In Times Like These.....

Like many, I’m sure you have questions concerning this health crisis. While each day seems to bring new revelations and higher degrees of concern, we are confident of one thing. GOD REMAINS SOVEREIGN and is in TOTAL CONTROL!!!

So what do we do, as Believers in the Lord, Jesus Christ??? How do we navigate through these perilous times?

1. STOP FRETTING and DO NOT PANIC!!!

Fear of the unknown can literally paralyze a person and distract them from living each day to the fullest. While it’s prudent to be cautious and take preventative measures, we must not allow panic to overwhelm us to the point where our faith is consumed by fear. The Apostle Paul writes in his letter to the Church at Philippi not to worry or be anxious about anything. He goes on to instruct them to pray for God’s blessings and seek his protection and do it all with thanksgiving.  “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. “ ~ Philippians 4:6

2. TRUST GOD and STAY STRONG

In the midst of this storm we all are facing, it’s important to remember who God is. While in our own strength, we can do very little, it is in Christ  that we find strength to endure. Charles Tindley penned it best! “When the storms of life are raging, stand by me.  When the world is tossing me, like a ship upon the sea, thou who rulest wind and water, stand by me.”  “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” ~Isaiah 41:10

3. EXERCISE YOUR AUTHORITY

Our Christian faith is not a decorative ornament that is to be displayed only on the good days. You have been equipped to handle the crisis we find ourselves facing. In the gospel of Luke, Jesus reminds the seventy-two of the authority given them to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome the power of the enemy. Begin to speak over your health, your household, your families, your church, communities, and this world and watch God move across the land to wipe out this virus!  “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” ~ Luke 10:19

4. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS TIME!!

Our hectic busy lives often get in the way of precious moments with God. Take advantage of your time of isolation to commune with God. He wants to spend time with you, to speak to your heart and hear your heart. We love quoting Jeremiah 29:11 because it comforts us to know that God wants to give us hope and a future. But verse 12 and 13 reminds us to call on him, intentionally seek him and he will listen. Take time to call on him TODAY!! “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” ~ Jeremiah 29:11-13
